🧹 Love Your Velodrome – Community Clean Up Day

As we gear up for another exciting year of cycling at Middlesbrough Velodrome, we’re inviting the local cycling community to come together and help us prepare the track and surrounding areas for the new season.

On Saturday 14th February, we’ll be hosting our Love Your Velodrome Clean Up Day — a chance for riders, parents, volunteers, clubs, and supporters to give something back to a facility that gives so much to the region.

Why we’re doing it

The velodrome is more than just a track — it’s a shared community space. With a busy calendar of coaching sessions, school delivery, racing, and national events ahead, this is a great opportunity to:

  • Tidy up the track surrounds and infield

  • Refresh key areas after winter

  • Take pride in the home of cycling in Teesside

  • Kick-start the season together as a community

Who can get involved?

Everyone is welcome — you don’t need to be a rider or club member.

  • Riders of all ages

  • Parents and families

  • Coaches and volunteers

  • Clubs and local supporters

If you can spare an hour or two, it all makes a difference.

What to expect

  • A relaxed, friendly atmosphere

  • Jobs suitable for all abilities

  • Equipment provided where possible

  • Plenty of chat, laughs, and community spirit

We’re incredibly proud of the sense of ownership people already show towards the velodrome, and days like this really capture what NE Cycling is about.

👉 No booking required — just turn up, lend a hand, and help us get the velodrome ready for a huge year
