Track Academy Camps
Our Track Academy Camp Days are an excellent opportunity for Youth Riders to experience a full day of training on the Velodrome, ran very similar to our Road Talent Pathway sessions and will support riders gaining valuable track experience on the velodrome which is required for progression through the Road & Track Talent Pathway.
These are days that will test your fitness and some sessions will aim to prepare riders for various types of track racing.
Youth riders should have some previous track experience in order to attend this session.
If you have no prior Track experience please book onto a Taster session first.
Youth Track Skills
🚴♀️ First Steps on the Velodrome 🌟
For young riders new to the track and fixed gear bikes.
Our Youth Track Skills session is designed especially for young riders aged 8+ who are looking to try track cycling for the first time in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
Whether it’s their first time on the velodrome or their first go on a fixed gear track bike, this session focuses on building confidence, control, and basic skills with the help of friendly, qualified coaches.
🔹 Learn how to start, stop, and control a fixed gear bike
🔹 Build confidence riding on the track's flat and banking sections
🔹 Practice safe group riding and spatial awareness
🔹 Have fun developing cycling skills in a relaxed setting
Bikes and helmets are provided, and no previous track experience is needed – just a willingness to give it a go! 🙌
📍 The perfect introduction before moving on to Beginners, or Accreditation Pathways.
SQT - Endurance
🚴♂️ Structured Quality Training for Endurance Track Riders 💨
This Structured Quality Training (SQT) session is designed for riders looking to develop their track endurance and race-specific skills.
Focusing on the demands of endurance track events such as the Points Race, Scratch Race, and Madison, this session includes a mix of longer, structured efforts and group drills to enhance your fitness, pacing, and tactical awareness on the velodrome.
🔹 Tempo riding and through-and-off drills
🔹 Paceline and chaingang work
🔹 Endurance blocks and interval efforts
🔹 Mock race efforts to simulate event scenarios
Led by experienced coaches, these sessions provide the intensity and structure needed to build sustained power, improve group riding efficiency, and prepare for race performance.
📍 Riders should already hold track accreditation and be confident riding in a group.
SQT - Sprint
🚴♀️ Structured Quality Training for Explosive Speed and Power⚡
This Structured Quality Training (SQT) session is tailored for riders aiming to develop their track sprintingcapabilities and sharpen their performance in short, high-intensity sprint events.
Focusing on speed, acceleration, and tactical execution, this session features drills and efforts inspired by events like the Match Sprint, Keirin, and Team Sprint.
🔹 Standing and rolling starts
🔹 Max effort sprints and timed efforts
🔹 Tactical sprint drills and match sprint simulations
🔹 Flying 200s, drag races, and gate starts
Delivered by experienced sprint coaches, this session is ideal for riders looking to improve their explosive power, top-end speed, and track sprint racecraft.
📍 Riders should be track accredited and confident in sprint-specific techniques.
Open Track (Pay & Pedal)
Want some time on the track to train your way? Our Open Track sessions are ideal for riders who’ve passed velodrome accreditation and want the freedom to ride solo, with friends, or even bring along your own coach to work on specific skills.
✅ Ride at your own pace
✅ Join others on the track for a group spin
✅ Work 1:1 with your coach (if arranged)
❌ No coaching provided by the velodrome — these are independent sessions
Open Track (Coached)
Our Open Track Session is ideal for riders who have track experience and want to refine their skills in a flexible, coached environment.
A qualified coach will be on hand throughout the session to support you with areas such as:

🔹 Bike position & efficiency
🔹 Race skills & drills
This is a great opportunity to work on your own goals or get feedback from a coach in a more relaxed, open format. Riders must be confident riding solo on the track.
